Im goth but don't wear any makeup. People make mistakes and think that you have to dress or wear makeup a certain way to be considered something, you don't. Its about who you are and how you express yourself, as well as carry yourself, not how you look. Although people who do tend to have the same type of lifestyles usually dress a certain way, because of this they have been filed into stereotypes, and henceforth has labeled a specific look about that class.

My point was, emo kids are trying to be goth, so they try to do things that seem to fit the stereotype. They end up trying way too hard and looking like this.

Don't you just love that? Most of the general public hates goths and some kids think, "hey, I wanna be hated too, so I can have reason to pity my own self-victimization." WTF, why would you TRY to be the butt of most peoples' ridicule??? Ugh, I hate it when people try desperately to be something they're not.

Couldn't agree more. I like being just the way I am, if i get stereotyped to be goth or anything else, then so be it. I won't judge, and its not my place to judge, nor is it anyone elses. So in the end nothing matters anyway, dress and be what makes you comfortable and leave it to the man upstairs to judge us. Screw stereotypes xD

Even though you don't wear make-up, there are goths that do lol. I think its neat looking, those girls that do anyhow. I don't know about the guys.

But from my experience, goth is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than emo, and pretty much any self-respecting goth would no longer set foot in hot topic. Honestly its like a cesspool for emos and 12 year old that think they're goth because they own chain pants. Lord. They don't even know what goth is. >:\

I'm pretty borderline, I'm more alternative than goth but I do sport a good black. I find it classy. <3

Maybe in my spare time I should sew zippers, straps, etc to a bunch of black clothes from Ragstock or something like that. Eh, I still see a few nice things in Hot Topic, but they're usually the most expensive clothes that hide in the shirt racks in the womens' section.
